Obituary: Eddie Rose, Jr. was born July 9, 1948, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Eddie Rose, Sr. and Julia Howell Rose. He Transitioned to eternity on Saturday, March 28, 2018. He was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina graduating from Booker T. Washington High School. He also attended Midlands Technical College. He was a member of Millcreek Baptist Church. Upon leaving high school, Eddie joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country from 1966 to 1969, during the Vietnam War. After his tour of duty, he returned home to work for ETV as an Electronic Technician. In 1973, he was united in Holy Matrimony and from that union a beautiful daughter was born. After his health began to decline, he lived a quiet life enjoying sports, deep-sea fishing, and supporting his Washington Redskins. Mr. Eddie Rose, Jr. leaves to cherish his precious memory: his children, Jennifer Rose (James) Anderson and Quincey Jones, both of Atlanta, GA; one grandson, Jace Anderson, of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Suzette Rose, of Columbia, SC; four brothers, Larry Rose, Ray Rose, both of Columbia, SC, Robert Rose, of Charlotte, NC, and Nate (Karen) Rose, of Savannah, GA; one aunt, Ruby Robinson, of Hopkins, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. Services: Funeral services for Eddie Rose, Jr. will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at JP Holley Funeral Home, Garners Ferry Chapel, with burial 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
