Douglas Martin Hustad

Douglas Martin Hustad, 69, of Sumter, SC, a beloved father who battled Alzheimer’s and Lewy Body  Dementia over a decade departed this life Tuesday, March 26, 2024.  He was born to the late Philip E Hustad and the late Marjorie A Christopherson Hustad on October 21, 1954 in Bessemer, Alabama. Doug joined the USAF, September 1976 and retired after serving his country for 20 years in September 1996. He loved spending time with family and friends, whether it was at the beach or the lake. His favorite past times were playing softball and golf. He was survived by his two children, Tiffany Simon (Norman) and Christopher Hustad and five grandchildren, Dylan, Peyton, Hunter, Emery and Eli, all of Sumter, SC. A sister Brenda Hustad(Bruce) of Florida, and two brothers Perry Hustad (Jenny Lynn)of Virginia and Wade Hustad(Leigh) of Tennessee and a niece Jawania Wright(Stephon) and two nephews Philip Hustad (Alicia) and Jonathan(Amanda) and four great nephews (Dakota, Drew, Dalton and Nate). Full Military Honor’s Service will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, South  Carolina on April 11, 2024 at 2 pm.
