Dorothy Pugh led a life filled with love and purpose. Vital records show her birth as July 12, 1935, however it was discovered that she was born a few years earlier. She grew up in Sumter, SC. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Sumter, SC. Later, she attended Sumter Beauty College and became a Licensed cosmetologist in 1981. She worked many years at Star Barber and Beauty Salon, and eventually she worked independently. In 1988 she became a Certified reflexologist. She lived a life of service, joyfully working hard to help others in any capacity needed. She married James Pugh, Sr. on October 30, 1993. They were happily married for 20 years. She also served as a Regular Pioneer, devoting much of her time speaking with others regarding the wonderful promises found in the bible. She did this for some 40 years, right down to the end of her life. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Marguerite Robinson and Sam Robinson; her spouse, James F. Pugh Sr.; her two sons William Eugene Hoskins and Warren Franklin Hoskins; two brothers Franklin Robinson and Sam Robinson. Dorothy is survived by her sisters- Ruth Watson, Sumter, SC, Noami Hagans, Sumter, SC; children-Roderic Hoskins, (Trina Hoskins), Sumter, SC, Margaret Blair, (George Blair) Clearwater, Florida, Gwendolyn Buchanan, Wilmington, NC, Leola Rogers, (James Rogers) Sumter, SC, Marcelina Stukes, Columbia, SC, James Franklin Pugh Jr, (Sarah Pugh) Dalzell, SC, Rosalind Riley, Atlanta, Ga. Dorothy leaves behind a host of nephews and nieces, grands and great grands. As well as many sons, daughters, and grands whom she graciously adopted from her heart.
