Donna Gayle Daisley King, 73, died June 19 at MUSC Health Medical Center in Columbia, following a brief illness.
She was born to Thomas and Gertrude Daisley on November 16, 1950 in Columbia. A longtime employee of the South Carolina Department of Education, she was a 1968 graduate of Greenville (SC) Senior High, a 1972 graduate of Salem College, and later received a masters degree from South Carolina State University.
Predeceased by a brother, Tommy, and her parents, Ms. King is survived by brother Michel Daisley (Liza) from Charlotte, and sisters Karen Cannon (Alan) from Arlington, TX and Tricia Daisley (Steve Smith) from Chapel Hill, NC, along with nieces Sara Cannon and Katherine Cannon and nephews Jackson Daisley, Russell Cannon, Ben Smith and Sam Smith.
A worship service celebrating the life of Ms. King will be held Saturday, August 3 at 1 p.m., at the Episcopal Church of Saint Michael's and All Angels, 6408 Bridgewood Road in Columbia.
