Debra Gilman, 53, of Hopkins, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025. Born on August 14, 1971, in Columbus, Georgia, Debra was beloved by her family and all who knew her. Debra was a deeply intelligent and versatile woman who embraced life with warmth and humor. Above all things, she dedicated herself to family and placed their needs before her own, showing unwavering love and kindness to those around her. A protector to many, she was known and cherished for her bubbly, infectious laughter and her endlessly comedic outlook on life. Debra's caring nature touched everyone she encountered, and her compassion and generosity left lasting impressions. Debra is preceded in death by her two loving parents John and Sally Myers of Newberry, South Carolina. Debra is survived by her only son, Matthew Tumber, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Debra always called her son a gift from God as many years later shared a birthday with him born on August 14, 1999. Debra is also survived by her Two Grandchildren Matthew Jr. and Katherine, Brother John Myers, as well as Aunts and Uncles: Marie Brigman, Jimmy Felker, Martha McAlister, and Ann Rice. Debra had many Nephews and Nieces including: Bailey, Gabrielle, Justin, Kaden, Kelbey, Konner, Lexis, Mitchell, and Tristan. The world became a little bit brighter on the day Debra was born and the passing of Debra Gilman on June 17, 2025 will always continue to be remembered. At this time there will be no services, but a celebration of life will be planned in time for close family and friends.
