David Thorn died suddenly on September 1, 2022, at the age of 63 in Cassatt, South Carolina. He was born on December 3, 1958, in Brooklyn, New York to Robert, Sr and Mary Roach Thorn. David’s family moved to Camden, South Carolina when he was two years old. David attended Camden schools and graduated from Camden High School. He later met and married Shirley (Dee Dee) Industrious. David excelled in a variety of jobs which included: DuPont Inc., the City of Camden, Care Giver in Connecticut and as a long-distance truck driver. Whenever he drove to a city or town where he had relatives, he would always make it a point to contact them. He often talked fondly about visiting his family in Connecticut and Minnesota. David had a quick mind and was an avid reader. He could hold in-depth conversations with almost anyone regarding almost any subject. Many of his conversations would have a philosophical flare. David took and early retirement from the City of Camden due to health issues. He was a member of Faith and Joy Tabernacle Church. David is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert, Jr (Robbie) and his wife Dee Dee. David is survived by his nephew Robert III, a host of cousins, friends and his good buddy David Spence, all of whom will miss him dearly.
