David Lee "Bug" Prewitt

David Lee Prewitt "Bug" of Elgin, SC, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family February 8, 2026. David was born in Columbia, S.C. on April 6, 1968, to David Lewis Prewitt and Wanda Sue Prewitt (née Davis). He grew up in Elgin, South Carolina where he attended Spring Valley High School.

Bug worked in construction most of his life. Most recently employed by Res Con LLC. There was no greater joy than his children and grandchildren. His family came first. He loved to travel, especially on his Harley to the beach and the mountains. He was an avid lover of animal's and was a friend to all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife Dianna Prewitt " T-Di" and their daughter Braily Prewitt, step daughter Emily McConnell, daughters Rebecca Brown (Matt), Brianna Prewitt, son David Douglas Elliott. He is also survived by his sister, Amanda "Mandy" Yackshaw (Bubba Suratt), brother Pete Prewitt, nieces Stephanie Yackshaw, Anna Prewitt & Ashley Suratt. Grandchildren Brantley, Sadie & MJ Brown, Dolton Wade and Ava Louise Mcgee and many cousin's. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Peter "PJ" Prewitt.

Bug accepted Christ and became a member of Sonrise Baptist Church, 4930 Alpine Rd, Columbia SC, pastored by Barry Spears, where his services will be held on Saturday February 21, 2026 at noon. Visitation with the family will begin at 11am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the National Cancer Society.
