David S Hanson

March 21, 1965 — September 1, 2025

David S. Hansen, age 60, of Blythewood, South Carolina (formerly of Franklin,  Massachusetts) passed away peacefully under Hospice care at White Oak Nursing  Home, Columbia, South Carolina, on September 1, 2025 after a long and courageous  battle with complications arising from a motorcycle accident in 1996. His fight lasted  many years and it became more and more challenging as time went on, ultimately  leading to a bad fall. David was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, boating, cars  and his motorcycle. His joy was his Harley Davidson. He looked forward to the annual  bike ride to Laconia, NH. David had many friends who supported and encouraged him  during these years, especially Teresa Whaley. He was born in Norwood, Massachusetts  on March 21, 1965 to Mildred and James Hansen. David graduated from Franklin High  School in 1983. He began working at Bose Corporation and relocated to South  Carolina when a division of Bose moved there in 1996.  David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents (Henry and Ethel Nelson  and his paternal grandparents, Harry and Gertrude Hansen) as well as his father,  James A Hansen. He is survived by his mother, Mildred Hansen and brothers Daniel  and his wife, Tracy; Brad and his wife Brenda, all of Bellingham, MA. He is also  survived by his five nieces and nephews, Kayla and Sarah Hansen, David and Missy  Archer, Aaron Williamson, along with his uncles, Arthur Nelson and his wife, Connie of  Sanford, Maine, Ralph Hansen and his wife Margaret from Exeter, NH and four cousins,  Eric, Matthew Nelson and Peter and Paul Hansen.  Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice or a charity of your choice.  We are comforted in knowing that David is no longer struggling. He fought an uphill  battle. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew him.
