Charlene Mae Hyslop, 76, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025. She was born on September 10, 1948, and lived a life full of love, kindness, and devotion to her family.
Charlene was a dedicated bookkeeper and a loving babysitter, bringing warmth and care to all those she encountered. She had a deep love for her fur babies, who were her cherished companions. Charlene also loved to travel, especially going on cruises, and she enjoyed exploring new places and experiencing new adventures. One fun fact that is that she went to high school with Priscilla Presley in Germany and she would often quip that if Elvis had seen her first, we would have grown up at Graceland instead.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Lori Purvis (Brian Purvis) and Shannon Cruz (Hector Cruz), and her adored grandchildren, Bobby Purvis (and his wife, Raynay), Micaela Cruz, and Kenneth Cruz, and her brother Danny Hyslop. She was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth Hyslop and Joyce Hyslop. She was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of her great-grandson, Levi, who will grow up hearing about the love and kindness she shared with all who knew her.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Carolina Poodle Rescue in Charlene’s name, reflecting her deep love for animals.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
