Obituary: A special life has passed from our sight, but never from our hearts. Mr. Cecil Darrell Archie Sr. was born on March 29, 1965. He was the son of Mary Lee Archie of Hopkins, SC. On Monday, March 5, 2018, Cecil entered into eternal rest. He was 52 years old. Cecil accepted Christ in his life at an early age, and was baptized at Saint James Baptist Church in Hopkins SC. A proud Diamond Hornet, Cecil was a 1983 graduate of Lower Richland High School. He was employed with Richland School District One until his retirement. Cecil was an avid grill master and was known to always handle the grill at family events. He was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. When the Cowboys won a game, he was known to yell his famous saying, "WHAT ABOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!" Though physically, he is no longer with us, his loving spirit and bright smile will live on in the lives of all those who loved, admired, respected and knew him. Cecil leaves to reminisce of the joy and laughter shared through the years, his four children, Necole (Arthur) Dickey and Ashley (Angel) Laboy of Columbia, SC , Second Class Petty Officer Surface Warfare Cecil (Page) Archie of Norfolk, VA, and William Archie of Hopkins, SC; three stepchildren, Commander Terrence (Jennifer) Frost of Chesapeake, VA, Dannette Angel Frost of Hopkins, SC, and Patrick Burnett of Columbia, SC; two brothers, Everette ( Pamela) Archie of Eastover, SC and Gregory (Jocelyn) Archie of Hopkins, SC, and one sister, Renee (Walter) Anderson of Hopkins, SC, one aunt, Mary (Berry) Goodwin of Irvington, NJ, companion, Jacquelyn "Jackie" Frost Burnett of Columbia, SC, twelve grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Services: Funeral services for Cecil Darryl Archie , Sr. will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at St. James Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the JP Holley Funeral Home.
