April Rene Finch (Brandenberger), 50, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on October 18, 2025, at Lexington Hospital surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on December 18, 1974, in the Bronx, New York, April grew up in Colorado Springs and Denver, Colorado, before finishing school in Las Vegas, Nevada. She later built a life centered on compassion, humor, and service to others.
April’s greatest joy in life was being a mother to her three daughters — Brittany Finch, Marissa Avery, and Addison Parrish — and a devoted grandmother to her three granddaughters and one grandson. She was deeply loved by her mother, Helen Henke; her siblings John Brandenberger, Lisa Montgomery, and Freddy Brandenberger; as well as three nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved Aunt Dorothy Henke.
Those who knew April will always remember her radiant laugh, her huge heart, and her gift for making everyone feel valued. She had a knack for finding humor even in life’s hardest moments, and she always made sure the people around her knew they mattered.
April dedicated her career to home health care, where her clients quickly became part of her extended family. She went above and beyond in her work — offering not just care, but comfort, dignity, and love. Her compassion and commitment touched countless lives.
April was proud of many things — earning her GED, building a career she loved, and, most of all, raising her beautiful daughters. She found joy in music and laughter, and she lived by her favorite saying:
“You never know what someone is going through. Sometimes a simple smile or a warm compliment can change a persons day.”
Her family takes comfort in remembering her favorite song lyric, “What a Wonderful Life.” Indeed, April’s life was wonderful — rich with love, laughter, and connection — and her spirit will live on through every person she cared for and every life she touched.
